Hoping to stay on schedule from here on out.

Went well - for some reason, even though this was only the second run in the plan, I felt like I did much better. Maybe I was running at a slower pace? Taking it a little more easy during the runs? I'm not exactly sure, but I felt as though I could have run even longer than the 60 second intervals. Overall, a great run! Happy to be this far, and it's only day 2!

Oh, and my (almost) 7 year old son came along with me. Great mom/boy time! :)

Happy Running!

Trish a.k.a. It will probably be really lame, but oh well. This is really just a way for me to document my journey to becoming a fit, healthy woman, instead of the lazy, tired, hungry woman that I currently am. After much research and consideration, I decided to follow the Couch To 5K program. It seems to be a pretty amazing program that allows a beginner runner to comfortably ease into the regimen and can be easily adjusted to an individual's ability. I have absolutely no experience with running. And that's no exaggeration. I despise it, actually. Hate is an even better word.

HOWEVER

I have a drive. I believe God has put a drive inside my heart. I WANT to learn to love running, and honestly believe that if I push myself to complete this program, my pride will help get me through and I can become a healthy runner for life. High hopes? Maybe. But they're mine, and I can make them as high as I want to!

Yesterday evening was my very first run. As I set out to begin W1D1 (week 1, day 1), I was extremely anxious and full of nerves. I kept telling myself that I can do this. To my surprise, I did fairly well! I'm sure I looked like a fool (run for 60 seconds, walk for 90 seconds) but hey, who's really watching anyway, right? Right? Okay, I'd be laughing if I saw myself trying to run for 20 minutes, no doubt.

I will try to post here once a week and will add more and more to the blog as I progress through this program. My goal is that this blog will help me hold myself accountable for my choice to do this. Will you help me? Will you pray for me, and ask God to continue to give me motivation and the will to love myself enough to reach my goal?

Trish a.k.a.
